A
Grand Canyon Vacation should start
in Sedona, Arizona for...
“God
Created the Grand Canyon,
but He lives in Sedona!”
Sedona was voted the 2008 Travelers Choice
Destination Award!
"The
5th Top Destination in the United States"
So
when you select accommodations for your Grand Canyon Vacation,
you may want to consider the Kings Ransom Sedona Hotel, and enjoy
our bargain rates for luxurious accommodations. Grand Canyon hotel rates are typically much higher.
When you book your Grand Canyon Vacation reservation,
Say: “I’m going to the Grand Canyon” and we
will give you $10 off per night on any weekday reservation using
our internet rates. Call for a reservation at 1-877-480-0044!

From Sedona you can easily visit the Grand Canyon on a day trip.
Here’s what we recommend:
Come
to the King’s Ransom during the week, Sunday night
through Thursday night…when our rates are the lowest. Call 1-877-480-0044 to make your reservation.

Check
in and enjoy a swim in our sparkling pool and relax in
our outdoor Spa. You can use the computers in the lobby to check
out the details of your trip the next day to the Grand Canyon.
We have a printer for you as well. Our friendly staff will be
happy to assist you.
The
next morning, take advantage of our complimentary
healthy breakfast…grab some fruit for a snack on the
way (Breakfast begins at 7 a.m.). Make a right turn out of the
hotel, and begin an incredibly scenic drive that is a delight
in itself. Make a right turn from Hwy 179 onto 89A which winds
its way up gorgeous Oak Creek Canyon, through Aspen & Ponderosa
Pines, gaining 2000 feet to Flagstaff.
From Flagstaff there are three ways to get to
the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. It will take you approximately
2 hours if you don’t linger along the way. Please
view the Grand Canyon Area Map - we
highlighted our recommended road tour with purple arrows.
For more detail you can visit nps.gov/grca/planyourvisit/
.
You will be delighted with this scenic drive, but if you want
to add a trip on the Grand Canyon Railway, featuring
an old fashioned steam engine, stop in Williams and board the
train for the second half of the trip, which also takes you to
the South Rim. This is a memorable experience!
You
MUST go to the National Geographic IMAX Theatre! Do
it first!
It's
on the way. The National Geographic Visitor Center and Theater
is located on Highway 64, on the left hand side, just south of
the Grand Canyon National Park entrance in Grand Canyon, Arizona.
Over
the Rim and Beyond
The
IMAX® Movie, Grand Canyon: Discovery & Adventure
In
only 34 minutes, viewers will discover a Grand Canyon that would
take a lifetime to experience. The film opens with the beginning
of man's fragile kinship with this twisting 277 mile Canyon, then
moves the audience through time with brief glimpses at the stone
pages of human history. From the mysterious Anasazi who inhabited
the Canyon 4,000 years ago, viewers will travel through Grand
Canyon history to join Major John Wesley Powell as he challenges
the unexplored Canyon and raging Colorado River in 1869.
Imagine this! The screen image
is 60 feet high, while the thunderous sound of the Colorado River
rapids is delivered through 12,000 watts of digital surround sound.
The 488-seat air-conditioned auditorium with stadium seating ensures
that you’re right where you want to be – in the middle
of the action!
Once
you are at the South Rim, there is a new service you
may want to take advantage of…with your cell phone. It is
called the Personal Ranger. At Grand Canyon National Park, you
can dial up an audio tour on your cell phone along the South Rim.
At each stop, you call an indicated number, and the recorded voice
of a ranger gives a two-minute talk about the scene before you.
So far, there are a dozen stations installed…soon to be
25 stations along a five mile stretch of the path between Yaki
and Maricopa points. The service is free!
