Check in and enjoy a swim in our sparkling pool and relax in our outdoor Spa. You can use the computers in the lobby to check out the details of your trip the next day to the Grand Canyon. We have a printer for you as well. Our friendly staff will be happy to assist you.

The next morning, take advantage of our complimentary healthy breakfast…grab some fruit for a snack on the way (Breakfast begins at 7 a.m.). Make a right turn out of the hotel, and begin an incredibly scenic drive that is a delight in itself. Make a right turn from Hwy 179 onto 89A which winds its way up gorgeous Oak Creek Canyon, through Aspen & Ponderosa Pines, gaining 2000 feet to Flagstaff.

From Flagstaff there are three ways to get to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon (see map). It will take you approximately 2 hours if you don’t linger along the way.

You will be delighted with this scenic drive, but if you want to add a trip on the Grand Canyon Railway, featuring an old fashioned steam engine, stop in Williams and board the train for the second half of the trip, which also takes you to the South Rim. This is a memorable experience!

Once you are at the South Rim, there is a new service you may want to take advantage of…with your cell phone. It is called the Personal Ranger. At Grand Canyon National Park, you can dial up an audio tour on your cell phone along the South Rim. At each stop, you call an indicated number, and the recorded voice of a ranger gives a two-minute talk about the scene before you. So far, there are a dozen stations installed…soon to be 25 stations along a five mile stretch of the path between Yaki and Maricopa points. The service is free!

There is also an IMAX Theatre which we recommend. You won’t want to leave without visiting the Bookstore…and selecting a few postcards. Of course, a good camera is the best for capturing this lifetime memory.

When you have finished your Grand Canyon visit, you may drive back via one of the other routes to Flagstaff & Sedona. Once back to the Kings Ransom, may we recommend you drop into the hotel pool for a quick swim, or stretch out in our outdoor Spa. Then have dinner at the famous Elote Café in the Kings Ransom and savor some of the finest gourmet Mexican food you are ever likely to enjoy. Add an exotic Margarita, and you have the perfect ending to a perfect Grand Canyon experience. Of course you will want to come back again…to the Grand Canyon and….Sedona!
